Porch Light

Our poor, sad, ugly porch light needed to be replaced. I would love to show you a before picture of it, but sadly, it fell and smashed while Erich was taking it down.


On a recent trip to one of our favorite spots, the Habitat for Humanity Restore (a thrift shop for home improvement goods) we found this little gem:


Eight dollars. Not bad, but it needed some work. Enter spray paint…

A few coats of metallic, oil rubbed bronze spray paint, and we had this:

Much better. Here’s a close up so you can see the finish:

Also, we replaced to old yellow glass panels with regular frosted ones, and voila! A new(ish) light fixture for our front porch! Total cost: about $10 bucks. Note: we hadn’t yet added the frosted glass panels when we took this picture.
